Using Professional Skills to Address Societal Concern

The role of the architect in society is one of high responsibility. Yet in today’s rapidly globalized world there is an increased disconnection of the professional body and the issues that plague the country. We at IDEAS are keenly aware of the stress that has been laid on emerging concerns about the impact of the built environment on human behavior. We thus believe that it is essential to instill among students an interest in critical social issues and inculcate strong human values coupled with professional integrity so that they are motivated to working for the society and the country.

Objectives

To instill in students a moral and professional responsibility towards society.

To provide a platform for students and faculty to serve society.

Practice

  1. Students are exposed to different communities to sensitize them to their way of life, their aspirations, and needs.
  2. Students involved in community-based projects and research to habituate them in using their knowledge for the betterment of society.
  3. Students and faculty participation in social causes to raise awareness of the common issues faced by society especially their own city.

Paving the way towards Academic Excellence through Collaboration

Objectives

To enrich the quality of curriculum through collaboration with Institutions of Quality

To innovate teaching-learning pedagogy

Context

Academic excellence is the demonstrated ability to perform, achieve, and/or excel in scholastic activities. The professional world is highly competitive and to excel our students need to be firmly grounded with a sound foundation. It is of utmost importance to us that the learning we provide to them is the very best and is able to broaden their outlook of both the profession and the world.

 

Practice

  1. Mentorship program by CEPT University, Ahmedabad is aimed at knowledge sharing and capacity building to strengthen and innovate academic practices.
  2. Collaborations with other institutions of repute to facilitate exchange of ideas and resources.
